Jonathan Nowell Joins Trillium Partners

We are delighted to announce that Jonathan Nowell has joined the firm as a Senior Adviser. Jonathan is a seasoned, highly respected publishing and content executive and we have agreed an exclusive, long-term collaboration with him to originate and execute M&A and fund raising mandates in the publishing sector.

Jonathan held senior positions at Nielsen, the US provider of market research and consumer insights, for over 20 years, most recently as CEO and President of Nielsen Book. At Nielsen Book he grew the business substantially through a combination of driving the development of a number of data and information products, including the sales measurement service BookScan, and executing Nielsen Book’s M&A activity, including the acquisitions of Book Data and Bowker’s Research and Commerce assets.

Prior to joining Nielsen, Jonathan worked in the B2B information sector as a Publisher at Reed Information Services as well as in the consumer magazine space as a Publishing Director of EMAP.

Philip Mastriforte, Co-Founder of Trillium, commented:
“We are delighted that Jonathan has decided to work with Trillium. His in-depth knowledge of the publishing industry, international network of C-suite contacts and outstanding corporate development track record, will provide additional insights to our clients and will further strengthen Trillium’s expertise in one of our core sectors.”

Jonathan Nowell added:
“Having observed and participated actively in the evolution of the publishing industry for over three decades, I can see significant further scope for M&A activity and the potential for new business models to make their mark. I am thrilled to take on this role at Trillium which will give me the chance to team up with one of the most experienced and well regarded corporate finance advisory firms in my space.”
